Locust Hill Farms as it appears today

Tom Clancy’s estate—which was also Jack Ryan’s estate—Peregrine Cliff sits on the western side of the Chesapeake Bay. There, the former children’s summer camp (the address is still Camp Kaufmann Road) has a direct line of sight across the bay to Ragged Island regional airport. To the north there are the towns called Shady Side and Mayo, then Annapolis, home of the United States Naval Academy.

You know, the place Dr. Jack Ryan taught history to bright young midshipmen in Patriot Games. The Bay Bridge rises between Annapolis and Stevensville. Then it’s all corn, cows, soybeans and Colonial architecture, a charming town called Chestertown. This is the home of Washington College; George sat on the Board of Visitors there.

The Hunt for Tom Clancy requires subscribers to pay for access to VESSEL Material, in honor of James Angleton.
