In May of 1950, Rear Admiral Roscoe Hillenkoetter, the Director of Central Intelligence, wrote to Carmel Offie to thank him for his service and regretfully accept his resignation.
Offie, until that point, was a right hand man for Frank Wisner, Director of the Office of Policy Coordination; Office of Policy Coordination was also known then—apparently—as “PROJECT X. Wisner, I learned from other documents contained with this one in the Albert and Shirley Small Special Collections Library at the University of Virginia, was also CIA’s liaison to the Atomic Energy Commission.
Which certainly makes it interesting that the website formerly known as Twitter, now known as X, was also called “Project X,” as you can see from this list of investors Newsweek Published based on information released in a filing due to the work of Jacob Silverman, who I encourage you to read.
Look, down there, sandwiched between Bandera Fund LLC and Dayton Family Enterprises, LLC is “Brookfield Project X” LP.
